Are you talking about the vacuum tins? Someone asked me for an opinion on these snuffs and I spent an age trying to get into it without damaging it, eventually giving it to my 20 year old son who works out every day - neither guile or brute strength got me into them and I eventually cut the can open with a stout knife or else I could never have reviewed the snuff.
With those J and H Wilsons type vaccum cans, you can at least pierce the lid and let the pressure equalise, but the 6 photo ones were jammed on so tight that even that didn't help. They are a much lighter grade of alloy, which probably plays a part.
On the positive side they are outstanding single use containers - the snuff would last forever, unopened, I think.
Put it on a flat surface and then push down very, very, very slowly with your thumb. The plastic membrane with break off and you can discard it. They were a bit tricky for me at first too.
Super Chetak also has a metal membrane. @Harlequin I just rimmed it with a pocket knife and then transferred the snuff into a glass spice jar because the lip on the lid is pretty short and the tins don't hold in the scent very well. Come to think of it, nothing much can lock in the scent of a Super Chetak...I even tried a scent lock container and the smell of an Indian market still managed to fill my room.
I've had some where the interior bag comes right out (I think that was the harder plastic seal,) but most of them don't.
I have conceded defeat and just use my jack knife to cut a slot in the interior seal and transfer the snuff from the tin to my snuffbox with a teaspoon.
When I can lift up the bag from the tin, I snip off a corner. This allows me to pour into a snuffbox.
